Common questions from nonprofit leaders evaluating paid media partners.
What does BlueWing do?
BlueWing is a digital marketing agency, founded in 2016 and based in New York, that specializes in helping nonprofits drive digital fundraising and audience growth. Paid media across Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft, TikTok and YouTube is our core, and every service around it exists to make that spend measurable and connected to your supporter data: conversion tracking, CRM integration, custom reporting, SEO and GEO, and AI enablement. We’ve served 50+ nonprofits and managed $2.2M in media spend in the last 12 months. For example, we helped the Innocence Project recruit 150,000+ legislative advocates at a 292% return on ad spend, and the American Heart Association generate 3,600+ Heart Walk registrations across six markets.
Who is BlueWing the right fit for?
Mission-driven organizations that want to grow their email list, drive website traffic, build brand awareness, and convert one-time and recurring donations. Clients range from the American Heart Association to small six-figure organizations across health, criminal justice, international development, arts and culture, and education. Best fit: nonprofits with a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, Bloomerang, Funraise, Virtuous, Kindful, or Neon) and clear fundraising or advocacy goals. Whether you need focused paid media management or a comprehensive partnership with CRM integration and custom analytics, we tailor our services to your goals and budget.
How much does BlueWing cost?
Our smallest engagements start at $2,000/month. Pricing scales with the channels managed, the complexity of CRM integration, and reporting needs. Ad spend is paid by you directly to the platforms, with $0 markup. We work month-to-month with no annual contracts.
What channels does BlueWing manage?
Google Ads and Google Ad Grants, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn, TikTok, Microsoft Advertising and YouTube. We build full-funnel campaigns that acquire donors, advocates, registrants and email subscribers, then sequential programs that move people from first touch to one-time and recurring gifts. For most nonprofits, the highest-ROAS channel is Google Paid Search for direct donor conversion. We also implement conversion tracking (Google Tag Manager, GA4, Meta Pixel and Conversions API, and server-side tracking) and connect results to your CRM for true lead-to-donation attribution.
Does BlueWing manage Google Ad Grants?
Yes. Every eligible 501(c)(3) can receive up to $10,000 a month in free Google search advertising, but utilization and compliance take real work. We routinely spend the full monthly grant while maintaining the click-through rate and account quality Google requires, through account builds and restructures, compliance monitoring and conversion tracking. For organizations not ready for a full retainer, our software Ad Grants Pilot automates management and compliance: it’s AI-native, a person reviews and approves every change, and around 60 nonprofits have joined since its March 2026 launch.
What CRMs does BlueWing integrate with?
Salesforce and Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, Bloomerang, Neon, Funraise, Virtuous, Kindful and Action Network, plus Zapier and custom API integrations for less common stacks. We connect paid media to the systems where your supporters live, so new contacts are tracked, segmented and followed up automatically. Our advocacy pipeline for the Innocence Project has created 12,400 advocate-to-legislator connections. If your stack isn’t on this list, we’ve almost certainly worked with it before — ask.
Does BlueWing offer SEO and AI search optimization?
Yes. We help nonprofits earn visibility in both search engines and AI answer engines, including citations in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Bing Copilot, alongside keyword research, technical audits and content strategy for mission-critical terms. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) work includes schema implementation, llms.txt setup and answer-first content architecture. SEO and GEO are positioned as complements to paid media, not standalone services.
How does BlueWing use AI?
Every member of our team is AI-native and proficient in Claude Code. We use it to build our own tools and automate reporting and analysis, and our AI enablement service helps clients build custom tools of their own: reporting and insights dashboards, AI on top of your CRM, research agents and spreadsheet automation, plus Claude Code training so your staff can run and extend them. You own the tools outright. We hold to a human-in-the-loop philosophy: AI drafts, analyzes and recommends, and a person reviews and approves before anything changes in a live system.
Who will I work with at BlueWing?
You’ll work with an account manager supported by specialists in paid media, creative, SEO and GEO, and operations. Steven Aguiar founded BlueWing in 2016 and leads account strategy; he previously oversaw digital marketing at MTV Hive, The FADER and The Players’ Tribune. Briana Henderson and Sebastian Aguirre run paid media, Meg Brett leads creative, Michael Eisner leads SEO and GEO, and Mate Tagaj and Robbi Hess run operations and project management.
How does a BlueWing engagement work?
Every engagement starts with two onboarding calls: one to align on goals, KPIs and tech stack, and one to confirm campaign structure and conversion tracking. Most clients see initial campaigns live within two to three weeks of onboarding. From there you get automated reports every Monday and a check-in call every two weeks with your account manager. Retainers are month-to-month with no annual contracts. You pay the platforms directly for ad spend and it is never marked up; BlueWing invoices monthly for the management fee.
